Consultation
During your initial consultation at our prosthodontic office in Raleigh, NC, you will meet with Dr. Murphy and discuss your concerns. He will also examine your mouth and go over any records you have from other dentists to develop a custom treatment plan.
Preparatory Treatments
Any issues such as tooth decay or gum disease must be resolved before undergoing prosthodontic work. If you need preparatory implant placement, this will also be performed before you receive your crown, bridge, or dentures. Dr. Murphy uses Straumann implants for optimal results. Once placed, you will require a healing period of about three to six months. If you require dentistry treatments such as bone grafting, we will coordinate care with a trusted oral surgeon.
Impressions
Once your smile is ready, we will take impressions of your mouth to craft your restoration. Dr. Murphy is a skilled ceramist who personally crafts restorations in his in-house lab. He can provide temporary restorations to wear while your permanent restorations are being crafted.
Restoration Placement
Once your crown, bridge, denture, or veneer is ready, you will have an appointment for placement. Dr. Murphy will check the fit to ensure optimal comfort and function. If you have implants, Dr. Murphy will attach your restorations using connection pieces called abutments.
